Congratulations to Darryl Curtis of Parkside Drive, the recipient of this year’s Arcadia scholarship. Darryl went to Patapsco High School, and will be going to CCBC for one year and then attending the University of Nevada-Las Vegas to major in Hotel Administration.

The Arcadia Improvement Association's Paul Preziosi Scholarship is worth $200 toward tuition, books, or supplies. Eligibility requirements:
- Must be a resident of Arcadia
- Must be a high school senior
- Must reside in a household with a current membership in the Arcadia Improvement Association
- Must complete and submit application by May 31.

DPW Customer Support and Services will be offering extended hours to provide water customers the opportunity to discuss and pay bills prior to the closing of tax sale files at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2016. Delinquent water bills may qualify a property for tax sale. Regular customer service hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The extended hours will run from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the following days: Tuesday, April 26, 2016 Wednesday, April 27, 2016 Thursday, April 28, 2016 Customers with outstanding tax sale issues have until noon on Friday, April 29, 2016, to have them addressed in-person with a customer service representative. Payments will be accepted on-line until 4:30 p.m. that day. The website is www.baltimorecity.gov, and customers can click on the “Make a Payment” icon. You may have noticed construction at the head of the Tyndale Trail (at Parkside and Tyndale). A collapsed sewer line is under repair. Please note that the trail will be a bit treacherous while repairs are in progress.
Bagged leaf collection season has started and continues through January 4, 2016. The Bureau of Solid Waste will collect up to 20 bags of leaves every Monday throughout the season. Residents must call 311 before Sunday at 10 pm for the next day's collection. Residents may make multiple appointments for up to two months prior to the pickup date. The Bureau of Solid Waste will also continue to collect up to 5 bags of leaves on the regular trash collection day. Residents need to put leaves in clear or labeled bags and place them at their regular mixed refuse collection location and not in the public right-of-way. With Monday collections and regular mixed refuse collections, the Bureau of Solid Waste will collect, in total, 25 bags of leaves per week per resident. Residents can also drop off bagged leaves at any of the five Bureau of Solid Waste locations Monday through Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
